Loan Approved for Boy Scout Road Repairs

<p>Mary Alice Reporting:

(September 11th) New Philadelphia, Ohio – Amid a legal battle, the Tuscarawas County Commissioners authorize a loan agreement for slip repairs on Boy Scout Road.

Commissioner Chris Abbuhl explains the agreement was entered into with the county engineer for $226,841.

“For a five year period and repayment will start on January 1, 2018.”

Abbuhl adds they awarded a bid for the loan amount with a conditional contract.

“To Dennison Bridge Company but that is contingent upon receiving signed easements from the property owner of River Crest Farms.”

He notes the legal case over whether the county or property owner should ultimately pay for the slide repairs is still pending.

Boy Scout Road is closed for slippage near River Crest Farms.
