Local Civil War Roundtable Begins Thursday

(Wednesday, September 13th) Dover, Ohio – The Dover Public Library is announcing the start of the annual Civil War Roundtable.

Library Director Jim Gill, says the series has been around for a long time.

“The Tuscarawas Valley Civil War Roundtable has been together for around 25 to 30 years. I think most of the time it met here at the Dover Public Library. We’re excited about the Civil War, it was a defining event of our nation’s history.”

Tomorrow’s (Thursday’s) program, A Life after Quantrill: Kate King, a Biography, will be held at the Dover Public Library at 7:00 p.m. and will feature presenter Virgil Hofteizer.

The next program in the four part series will be held October 12th at 7:00 p.m. and will feature Dr. Kelly Mezurek who will present, Women and the Northern Home Front during the Civil War.
