Marie Conaway (Schumacher) Dobranetski, age 90, of Acworth Ga., formerly of Rayland, Ohio and New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017.

Mrs. Dobranetski was born on October 04, 1926, in Wellsburg, WV, a daughter to the late Paul L. and Mary Conaway. 

Mrs.Dobranetski was a special lady who enjoyed her service to others. She began her service with the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps during WW II. She was a graduate of the Wheeling (WV) Hospital School of Nursing. She served as a nurse at Wheeling Hospital and later at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, Ohio. She retired as Nursing Staff Coordinator in 1986. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiltonsville, Ohio and later Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Philadelphia, Ohio.

Along with her parents, Marie was preceded in death by Charles P. Schumacher, her husband of 38 years, her second husband, Edward B. Dobranetski; a son, Edward Schumacher; and two siblings, Ruth Pack and James R. Conaway.

She is survived by one son, Keith Charles Schumacher, his wife Carolyn, of Acworth, GA; three brothers, Paul E. Conaway of Wellsburg, WV, Ronald Conaway of Wellsburg and Donald Conaway of Bluffton, SC.; two sisters, Lenora Taylor of Weirton, WV and Patricia Conaway of Arlington, VA; two grandchildren Patricia Grace Schumacher and Anna Marie Schumacher; one God-daughter, Trudy Strawn; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive.

A Memorial Mass to honor the life of  Marie Conaway (Schumacher) Dobranetski will be held at a later date at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Wellsburg, West Virginia. Interment will take place in the St. Sylvester Catholic Church Cemetery in Woodsfield, Ohio.
