Mary Jane Gates, 86, of Dover, formerly of Dennison, passed away at her home on Friday, November 5, 2021. Born June 3, 1935 in Dennison, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Lavina D. (Knowles) Gates.
Mary Jane attended the Starlight Workshop for many years. She enjoyed worship at First Baptist Church in New Philadelphia, was a member of the Dollar and a Quarter Club, and loved cheering for the Cleveland Indians. She will be missed by her many friends – both residents and caregivers – at the Horizons group home where she had resided for over 25 years.
Pastor Dave Millard will officiate her funeral at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation is 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. She will be interred beside her parents in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
