Mildred Etta Davis, 81, of New Philadelphia, formerly of Uhrichsville, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018, while surrounded by her loving family, at Mercy Medical Center in Canton. Born December 12, 1936 in Linton, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late John Frederick and Virginia Mae (McKinney) Dallison.
Mildred was a 1954 graduate of Bergholz High School before marrying John William “Jack” Davis on July 18, 1954. She enjoyed nearly 54 years of marriage with him until his passing on January 9, 2008, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Jack and Mildred are survived by their daughters, Deanna (Carl) Menapace, Jackie Rae (Neil) Putnam, Roxane “Rocky” DeMattio, Kellie (Tony) Breehl and Gail (companion, Dave Brunk) Fondriest; grandchildren, Brooke (Tommy) Grafe, Lindsay (Carmelo) Gaglio, Rachel (Adam) Gunnish, Leonard DeMattio III, Matthew Lester, Donovan (Rose) Lester and Madison Fondriest; and great-grandchildren, Lauren, Peyton, Milania, Antonia, Rhylynn, AnnaLela and Camille. Mildred is also survived by her siblings, Ida (Anthony Jr.) Lombardi and Herbert Dallison, and many nieces and nephews.
Rev. Larry Malterer will officiate a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery where she will be interred beside her beloved husband. In keeping with Mildred’s wishes, no public visitation is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society, 1432 Tall Timber Rd.
