Mary Alice Reporting:
Meeting the expectations of his nickname, the Mineral City Warrior braved the witness stand Thursday in the trial against the man accused of attacking him in June.
Prosecutor Ryan Styer called to the witness stand the 11-year-old boy.
During Styer’s questioning, the boy indicated on June 2nd he went to a friend’s house to play, and on his way home encountered a man in the woods. He described the man as being black with longer hair.
Throughout his testimony, the child recalled hearing his cell phone and before suddenly went silent. The phone was recovered in two pieces by deputies and presented as evidence earlier in the trial.
The defense pointed out that after he was released from the hospital, he was shown multiples photos of men with dark-colored skin but could not identified the man who had attacked him.
Testimony continues Friday where closing arguments are also expected.
