(Thursday, August 09, 2018) Tuscarawas County, Ohio – A missing 17-year-old juvenile was located early Thursday morning after a BOLO alert was issued by the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday.

Officials said Nicholas Whitmer was last seen when he was dropped off to work for the Newcomerstown Schools at 7:50 am Monday.

Sgt. Jones of the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Department said they received a call Wednesday afternoon with a possible address Whitmer’s location in Guernsey County.

“We had asked Guernsey County’s Sheriff’s Office to respond to the areas and see if they could locate him. They made a couple of attempts in the area and were unsuccessful but later on called back in approximately around 8:30 in the afternoon and said they had located Nicholas.”

Whitmer has since been reunited with his foster parents. Sgt. Jones said they have no reason to suspect anything in particular regarding his disappearance at this time.
