Monroe J. Miller

Monroe J. Miller 86 of Sugarcreek died Friday, July 8, 2016 at his residence following a period of declining health.

He was born February 24, 1930 in Holmes County to the late John J. and Lizzie Ann (Hershberger) Miller.  He was a retired farmer, enjoyed working in his woodshop and was a member of Faith Christian Fellowship. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Ann Wengerd whom he married September 27, 1951; his children Mose (Erma) Miller and Paul (Mary Ann) Miller both of Sugarcreek, LeRoy (Kathy) Miller of Forest, Ohio, John (Naomi) Miller, Anna (Ralph) Hensel and Leona (David) Troyer all of Sugarcreek, 21 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, his sister Edna Erb of Sugarcreek, his brothers Henry  (Edna) Miller of Sugarcreek and Noah (Edna) Miller of Baltic and sisters-in-law Bena Miller of McConnelsville and Anna Miller of Sugarcreek.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Martha, his brothers Eli, Jonas and Emery, sister and brothers-in-law Mattie and Menno Beachy and Mose Erb, great grandson Bryce and great granddaughter Laura.

Services will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Maranatha Fellowship Church 941 SR 93 NW Sugarcreek with Pastor Mark Miller officiating.  Burial will follow in Maranatha Fellowship Church Cemetery.  Friends may call on Saturday 6-8 PM and Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 PM all at Maranatha Fellowship Church.  Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek.
