Mary Alice Reporting:
(Wednesday, November 28th) Tuscarawas County, Ohio – As the roadways throughout the Tuscarawas Valley see a light snow covering this morning, officials are reminding drivers of winter tips.
Motorists are urged to reduce speeds and increase the distance between vehicles during or after any snow.
Tuscarawas County Engineer Joe Bachman notes that not all roads will be in a condition for the posted speed limit.
“Our worst problems are the first time it snows and we see a lot of accidents that time. The advice to the driver, make sure you start on time and go slow.”
Bachman adds that due to budget constraints, response times and treated roadways may not be completely clear.
In addition, motorists are reminded that bridges ice before the roads and that black ice can be on any surface.
