Mary Alice Reporting:
(Thursday, June 7th) New Philadelphia, Ohio – Residents are encouraged to be extras in a movie written, produced, and directed by a Tuscarawas County native.
Eric Swinderman, a 1994 New Philadelphia graduate, is currently filming Anhedonia, a feature-length dark comedy starring Breckin Meyer, Emily Kinney, and Giselle Eisenberg.
“[It’s about] a man suffering from bipolar disorder and depression who comes into a rather large inheritance, and then he meets a single mom and her quirky, eccentric daughter and they embark on a little road trip of healing and adventure.”
On Wednesday, June 13th at 10am film crews will be at Tuscora Park for about 2 hours and residents are asked to be background extras around the carousel.
Swinderman explains that in addition, a girl between the ages 7 and 11 and a man will be selected as featured extras.
“They would get a character name, be in the credits, and on IMDB. We’re looking for someone who would play Emily Kinney as a child so we’d be looking for a petite, blond girl, and then we would be looking for someone to play her father. Basically, she would be on the carousel and he would be watching her.”
He hopes for a big turnout to fill the space and asks anyone wishing to participate to not wear clothing with any logos, descriptions, or pictures.
A final production date for the movie is unknown and for more information, behind the scene photos, and production updates visit www.anhedoniamovie.com.
