Mary Alice Reporting – A new leader has taken the helm at the District 11 office for the Ohio Department of Transportation.
Tom Corey is a 23-year veteran at ODOT having experience as a highway worker, a transportation manager, and was the deputy director for the Division of Operations at ODOT’s central office.
Corey notes he has benefited from the many positions, which will carry-over into his new position.
“Bring all that back here to District 11. I think having the prospective from the frontlines workers to the administrative side will certainly benefit the district as we move forward.”
He says one continuing challenge is funding for infrastructure improvements that plagues all ODOT districts.
As the Deputy Director, Corey adds he will persist in spreading the message of driving safe.
“One of my biggest things is that we put the phones down and pay attention to what where doing.”
He says he is very humbled by being selected as the District 11 leader and looks forward to working with the office staff, along with the 327 employees who maintain ODOT roadways.
