Northeast Ohio Gas Prices Stabilize

Michaela Madison Reporting

(Tuesday, September 12th) New Philadelphia, Ohio – Following a double-digit spike, gas prices in Northeast Ohio are beginning to stabilize.

According to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report, after jumping by 29 cents last week, gas prices have dropped by three cents this week to an average of $2.53 per gallon.

The Great Lakes and Central States region is seeing both increases and decreases at the pump.

Officials note the volatility stems mostly from Hurricane Harvey’s impact on gasoline supply distribution and a 1 million barrel drop in the region’s gasoline supply.

The Energy Information Administration’s latest report shows Midwest gasoline inventories remain steady at 51 million barrels.

In the New Philadelphia area, the average price at the pump is $2.54 for a gallon of regular fuel.
