OSP Sends Holiday Travel Safety Reminder

Michaela Madison Reporting

(Friday, December 1st) New Philadelphia, Ohio – Another weekend is upon us during the holiday season, which likely means more holiday travel so, the Ohio State Highway Patrol is sending out a few safety reminders.

New Philadelphia Post Lt. Mark Glennon explained that this is a busy time of year for travel and so drivers should take extra precautions to stay safe.

“Always give yourself enough room with the vehicle in front of you and make sure there’s enough stopping distance in case something does happen you have enough time to react and stop,” said Glennon. “Make sure you wear your seatbelt and if you are going to drink, don’t drive.”

Glennon added the roadways are always busy on weekends throughout the holiday season. He noted drivers should also always plan ahead, give themselves enough time to get where they’re going and to simply take their time.
