Mary Alice Reporting – Young hunters had a chance to practice their skills during a special two-day season.

The youth only gun hunt was on November 23rd and 24th throughout Ohio.

The state Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife (ODNR) reports that just over 6,200 white-tail deer were harvested.

Over the two-day season, a non-hunting adult accompanied the minors.

Youth in Tuscarawas County bagged 243 deer, up from 2018’s total of 226. The top county in Ohio was Coshocton County will 263 deer harvested which is down from last year’s 288.
