Mary Alice Reporting – The Performing Arts Centers is announcing the approval of two grants that will aid in continued operations and programing services.

The Ohio Arts Council granted the funding of more than $31,000 to the New Philadelphia based facility.

PAC General Manager David Mitchell explains that the amount of $23,000 is from a Sustainability Grant that goes directly toward operating expenses.

“That’s just going to help us continue what we’re doing. It’s not associated with a particular program but it helps with our main stage shows, our educational outreach.”

The Ohio Artist on Tour money will benefit the local area by allowing the PAC to bring in musicians for their Cabaret series; as well as continue their mission of student outreach and performance art exposure.

“Specifically, with the class acts, that funding helps us keep that ticket price a dollar per student for those programs and helps us keep it a little more affordable for everybody.”

Mitchell adds that grant funding and sponsorships keeps the venue operational since ticket sales cover roughly 67% of the PAC’s budget.

One way for local residents to support the facility is by purchasing a membership or a ticket to one of the many variety concerts available each season.
