Larry L. McKee, age 71, of Dover, died peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, in his home after a long illness. Born May 26, 1940 in Columbus, he was a son of the late Ralph and Juanita Shepler McKee. Larry graduated in 1958 from Dover High School and went on to attend Ohio University. He served in the Ohio National Guard and was employed by the Greer Steel Co., from which he retired, for forty-six years.
Survivors include his wife of forty-nine years, Margaret Payne McKee; his daughters, Lori (husband, Richard) Patterson and Sheri (husband, Phil) Smitley; his two grandsons, Joshua (wife, Samantha) and Justin Patterson; a brother, Philip McKee; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wayne and Mary Burkhart; sister-in-law, Janet Payne; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, including a lifelong friend from the age of 2, Chuck Von Bergen.
The family will observe a private time of remembrance. Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover.
