With mere talk getting them nowhere, Dennison officials say they need answers.
After reviewing budgetary concerns and hearing numerous complaints from residents, council has concluded that it lacks the sufficient funding to make necessary paving improvements to village roadways.
Finance Chair Greg DiDonato says some roads have not been touched for decades.
DiDonato says with severe local government funding cuts and the loss of an inheritance tax, which brought in approximately $40,000 last year, the village, is left with close to one-million dollars in work.
DiDonato says paving budgets are at the mercy of the cost of oil, which in turn dictates the cost of asphalt. He says current rates estimate the cost of paving to be approximately $25,000-$35,000 per block.
DiDonato notes that Dennison is currently working with only enough funds for the basics.
Amongst all the talk, DiDonato says officials are currently considering two possible solutions.
DiDonato adds that council is planning a future public hearing to get input from residents and consider all options before taking further action.
