Courts Sentence New Philadelphia Woman for Stabbing Incident

Tuscarawas County Common Pleas Court Judge Edward O’Farrell sentenced Kristina N. Gagovski Thursday to two years in prison.

The 27-year-old was found guilty in December of one count of felonious assault for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend on July 4, 2011 at her then New Philadelphia residence on 4th Dr. NW.

Gagovski must also complete an up to six-month program in the Stark County Regional Corrections Center and will be placed on community control sanctions after her release.

However, Gagovski’s prison sentence has been suspended pending an appeal of the verdict.  Until then, she remains free on her own recognizance.
