A meeting to discuss the development of a multipurpose master trail plan for Atwood Lake is scheduled for Monday, June 4th.
Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District Development Coordinator Nick Lautzenheiser says the purpose of the meeting is to gather input from people who use the park as to what they’d like to see done.
MWCD staff will be joined at the meeting by experts in trail planning, Environmental Design Group of Akron, and Dan Rice, Executive Director of the Ohio and Erie Canalway Coalition.
Lautzenheiser says plans may possibly include building on existing trails at the park, among other things.
Lautzenheiser says the beauty of this project is that the area targeted for the trail system is owned by the MWCD.
Lautzenheiser says they hope to be able to come back and present results of Monday’s meeting in August.
Again, the meeting will be held on Monday, June 4th at 7 p.m. in the Lighthouse Bistro restaurant located at Atwood Lake Boats West at 9298 Atwood Lake Road N.E, Mineral City.
