The New Philadelphia City Health District is aiming to tame the current mosquito population. Environmental Health Director Lee Finley says so far the population is under control. Finley says the city has received some complaints from residents in the south side. Finley says mosquito spraying is already underway in the city. Finley says spraying will be conducted on an as needed basis. Finley says the city is also conducting a larviciding program this year. Finley says the new larvicide is made from an environmental fungus and is very safe for public use.
