Holmes County is moving forward on several Community Development Block grant projects.
 
County commissioner Joe Miller says earlier this week they awarded a construction bid for the Fiscal Year 2011 CDBG projects. 
 

 
Miller also says work is expected to get underway soon on the State Route 60 road improvement project at Killbuck. 
 
The project calls for elevating the road between the bridge at the Killbuck Creek and Main Street. 
 
That area of Holmes County historically floods several times a year, leaving the road impassable for days and even up to a couple weeks at a time.
 
The commissioners also recently announced which projects will receive Fiscal Year 2012 CDBG dollars. 
 

 
Holmes County has about $159,000 in Community Development Block grant funding to work with this year.
