Dover Man to Run for County Office Holder Position

A Dover man has been tapped to seek the position of Tuscarawas County Clerk of Courts in the November general elections.

The Tuscarawas County Republican Party’s central committee earlier this week selected Nickolas "Nick" Homrighausen, 29, as its GOP candidate.

Homrighausen fills the vacancy created on the ballot when Jimmy Seldenright withdrew from the race to take a job out of the area.

Committee chairman Joel Day says Homrighausen’s qualifications and his passion for the job are what stood out and really impressed the central committee members.

Homrighausen is a 2001 Dover High School graduate and holds degrees in Business Management and Political Science from Muskingum University.

He currently works as a Marketing Representative with AMP (American Municipal Power) in Columbus.

County Republican Party chair Doug Wills says they’re pleased to have Homrighausen as their candidate.

Homrighausen’s appointment will become official once it is certified by the county board of elections later this month.

He will face incumbent Democrat Jeanne Stephan in the November race.
