Tuscarawas County is marking the bicentennial of the War of 1812.
County Commissioner Chris Abbuhl says a flag raising ceremony is being held on the courtyard of the County Courthouse at noon on Monday.
He says Fred Miller, with the Tuscarawas County Historical Society, is the featured speaker for the event.
Abbuhl says Governor Kasich’s War of 1812 Bicentennial Commission is committed to creating awareness of this important time in the country’s history.
Abbuhl says the Ohio Bicentennial Commission has also purchased a fifteen star, fifteen stripe flag, also known as the Star Spangled Banner or Old Glory, for the County Courthouse.
Again, the ceremony is being held on Monday at noon.
