Reverse 911 Sign Up Event Slated for Wednesday

The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office is urging residents to sign up for their Emergency Notification System.

Sheriff Walt Wilson says the system, commonly referred to as Reverse 911, allows for both verbal and written notification.

Wilson says residents interested in receiving alert notifications can sign up online but says for residents unable to sign up via the Internet, a registration event is being held at the sheriff’s office on Wednesday from 2 pm to 7 pm.

The office is located at 2295 Reiser Avenue Southeast in New Philadelphia.

Citizens interested in receiving alert notifications in various forms can sign up through the Self-Registration Portal at https://tuscarawascountysheriff.onthealert.com or by using the link on the Sheriff’s website at http://sheriff.co.tuscarawas.oh.us

Citizens can provide their cell, VoIP and/or phone numbers (published or unpublished) and e-email addresses along with their personal preferences indicating the types of notification (emergency and non-emergency) they want to receive.

Please note: Citizens will still continue to receive emergency notifications through their landline telephones even if they do not register.  However, those without landlines should strongly consider signing up for emergency notifications.
