The Tusco Amateur Radio Club is marking National Field Day this Saturday.
Club President and Tuscarawas County Amateur Radio Services Emergency Coordinator Alan Sadolsky says a nationwide communications platform is being established to simulate emergency services, for 24 hours.
He says Ham radio serves as both a hobby and a service.
Sadolsky says the simulated emergency is being held at Dover City Park on Deis Hill and says the public is invited to attend to learn more about Ham radio.
FCC licensed Ham Radio Operators are taking part in “National Field Day” events across the country, coordinated by the American Radio Relay League.
