This year’s Thunder Over Holmes County Independence Day Festival offers plenty of wholesome entertainment the entire family can enjoy.
Historic Downtown Millersburg Executive Director Tara McCulloch says the event gets underway Friday evening with inflatable’s for the kids, a wandering magician, and the 2nd annual Thunder Idol competition where contestants compete for cash and trophies.
McCulloch says the winner of the competition gets to sing Saturday on the Main Stage.
McCulloch says Saturday’s activities include an obstacle course, rock climbing wall, a giant slide, face painting, dunk tank, silent auction items and much more.
McCulloch says a new addition to the festival this year is an artificial outdoor ice rink. She says festival-goers can skate for free from noon to 9 p.m.
McCulloch says HDM works very hard to secure sponsors for the festival.
Saturday’s activities culminate with a fireworks display that begins at 9:45 p.m. For more information on Thunder Over Holmes County, log on to www.historicdowntownmillersburg.com
