Allied Prepares to Expand

A Dover company is preparing to embark on two multi-million dollar expansion projects.

The Tuscarawas County commissioners last week gave their approval to a 10 year, 100% property tax abatement for $18.3 million dollars in expansions by Allied Machine and Engineering Corporation.

The Dover Board of Education and Dover City Council have already signed off on the deal.  The paperwork now goes to the state.

Allied Executive Vice-President Steve Stokey says plans call for expanding the company’s manufacturing facilities on Deed Drive, among other things.

Stokey says he’s excited to be able to bring people from outside the area to Dover.

Stokey says cooperation at the local and state level is helping to bring these projects to fruition.

Stokey says the projects should result in the creation of 25 to 30 new jobs, generating an additional $1 million.

He says to be able to expand in the current economy says a lot about the company.

Construction is expected to get underway in September.
