Fort Laurens will mark Independence Day today with a special ceremony. 
 
Site Manager Tammi Mackey says the event will be held on Fort Laurens grounds and will feature several well-known individuals.
 

 
Mackey says the Independence Day ceremony is held annually to honor those who have served and are currently serving in the military.   
 

 
Mackey says the 1 p.m. ceremony is free and open to the public, and museum admission will be free to attendees.
