Thirty-one-year-old Jasper L. Robinson of Canton and twenty-one-year-old Perry L. Robinson of North Carolina are each facing two counts of kidnapping.
The men appeared in Municipal Court Thursday and remain at the Tuscarawas County Jail in lieu of $600,000 bond a piece.
The pair allegedly kidnapped two New Philadelphia women this past Sunday at the Speedway on West High Avenue, traveled to a home on Beech Lane Northwest and assaulted the women, however, both women managed to escape and immediately notified law enforcement personnel.
After the incident, the suspects were located traveling north on I-77 and a pursuit ensued through Strasburg, however, the pursuit was eventually called off.
Both men were later identified and arrested in Canton on Wednesday.
Officials believe the incident may have been drug-related.
The Robinson’s are due back in court Monday at 8 am for preliminary appearances.
Additional charges are expected in the case and the case is also expected to be reviewed by a Tuscarawas County Grand Jury.
