Born November 12, 1945 in the Naval Yard Hospital in Brooklyn, New York he was a son of Paul C. Volz of Whiting, New Jersey and the late Christine Volz. He was a 1964 graduate of Dickenson High School in Jersey City, New Jersey then received a Master’s Degree in Education Rehabilitation Counseling from Kent State University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in Montana and Taiwan. He was employed and retired as a rehabilitation counselor in Holmes County. Bob enjoyed Civil War History and spending time with his daughter and grandsons. He is survived by his wife the former Barbara Hiller whom he married October 9, 1965.
Also surviving are his daughter Beverly (Jeff) Shaw of Newport News, Virginia and his 18 month old twin grandsons Jack and A.J. Shaw; a brother John (Judy) Volz of New Jersey; a sister Joni (Bob) Miller of Pa. and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Monday, August 6, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Union Hill Cemetery at Sugarcreek. Pastor Ed Scaglione will officiate and burial will follow.
