Many people will be looking to the sky this Saturday.
Wilderness Center Development Director Barb Vitcosky, who also serves as the staff liaison for the Astronomy Club, says the center is hosting a special Perseid Meteor Watch on Saturday.
Vitcosky says if there is good visibility you should be able to view around 40 to 80 meteors per hour.
Again, Vitccosky says the event begins at 9:30 Saturday evening and says viewing is often the best after midnight.
She says the event is being held weather permitting and says for additional information about the event or to check the status of the event on Saturday evening, you can visit the Wilderness Centers Facebook page.
