Troopers Urge Back to School Transportation Safety

The wheels on the bus will be going around and around again next week.

State Highway Patrol New Philadelphia Post Commander Lieutenant Eric Escola says it’s important for motorists to remember to observe all state regulations regarding school buses.

Escola says just because an officer does not actually observe an infraction, it doesn’t mean you won’t get caught.

Escola says it’s also a good idea for parents to remind their children to look both ways before crossing the street to get on or off the bus.

Escola says as for students who are planning to drive to school this year, it’s imperative that they pay attention to the road and observe all posted speed limits.

Escola says, above all, motorists need to plan ahead and allow extra time for school bus stops and watch out for children walking to and from the bus stop.
