Elections Chief Sets Uniform Voting Hours

Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted is setting uniform hours for early voting.

Tuscarawas County Board of Elections Director Chuck Miller says the Secretary has directed all elections boards, across the state, to remain open until 7 pm for the two weeks leading up to the November General Election.

Miller says the change will affect the local office and says office hours will change starting at the beginning of October.

Miller says the change should not cause any budget concerns for the local office.

On a similar note, Miller says all voters in the state will be receiving notices in September asking if they would like to vote absentee this November.

Again, all county board of elections, statewide, are being required to remain open until 7 pm for the two weeks leading up to the November election.
