Emanuel J. Schlabach



Emanuel J. Schlabach, 82, of 2870 CR 114 Sugarcreek died unexpectedly Saturday August 18, 2012 at Med Central Health System in Mansfield. 

He was born February 4, 1930 in Holmes County to the John A. and Mary (Hershberger) Schlabach.  He is retired from Valley Brake and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. 

He is survived by his wife the former Sara Erb whom he married June 21, 2007, six children Sylvanus (Sara) Schlabach of Millersburg, Adam (Faith) Schlabach of Fulks Run, Virginia, Delbert Schlabach of New Port, Ohio, John Schlabach of Canton, Emanuel Jr. (Becky) Schlabach of Wooster, Esther (Vernon) Hershberger of Ragersville, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren,  seven step children Katie (Jonathan ) Raber of Bellville, OH, Effie (Mervin) Lehman, Levi (Linda) Troyer, Amanda (Vernon) Troyer all of Baltic, Mary (Delbert) Troyer and Fannie (Owen) Hershberger  both of Sugarcreek and Henry (Erma) Troyer of Fresno, numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, nine brothers and sisters Roman (Ada) Schlabach, Mary (Eli) Raber and Emma (Dan) Troyer all of Sugarcreek, Lizzie Keim of Mt. Hope, John Jr. (Katie) Schlabach and Ervin (Ida) Schlabach both of Fresno, Anna (Jonas) Miller and Amanda (Junior) Coblentz both of Baltic and Verna (Emanuel) Miller of Millersburg.

In addition to his parents he is preceded by his first wife Amanda (Miller) Schlabach, second wife Emma (Miller) Schlabach, 2 sisters Mabel and Sylvia and great grandson Ryan. 

Services will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 9:00 AM at the Mahlon Troyer residence 2991 CR 114 Sugarcreek with Bishop Mose E. Hershberger officiating. Burial will be in the Burkholder Cemetery in Clark Twp., Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the Mahlon Troyer residence.  Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek
