The Harrison Hills School District is again offering a special program that allows dropouts to earn their diploma.
High school principal Mark Kowalski says Opportunity School is a free program that enables dropouts ages 16-21 to complete unfinished credits and graduate through special on-line courses.
Kowalski says they’ve had several students complete the program and move on to college or technical schools since the program’s inception three years ago.
Kowalski says he thinks Opportunity School is filling an important need in the area.
Kowalski says even though students take courses on-line, teachers are available to offer intervention if needed.
Kowalski says students set their own pace for completing the program.
