Representative Tours New Philadelphia Facility

State Representative Al Landis (R-Dover) recently toured the Timken Company’s bearing plant in New Philadelphia.

Landis says he spent a couple of hours touring the facility and discussing issues that currently face local manufacturers.

Landis says the New Philadelphia plant is extremely important to the community and the state.

Landis says the plant will be celebrating their 60th year in operation next year and says he’ll do everything in his power to help ensure the plant remains in the area.

Landis says the company is a leading global manufacturer of highly engineered bearings, alloy steels, and related components and assemblies.

Peggy Claytor, Manager of Government Affairs for Timken, says a visit to company facilities and a chance to talk with associates in the workplace offer legislators a more thorough view of the company as well as an understanding of the opportunities and challenges the company faces in the global marketplace.
