Friday is your last chance to see a “blue moon” until July 2015.   
 
Joann Ballbach, Education Director for The Wilderness Center at Wilmot, says the definition of a blue moon varies, but in this case, it means the second full moon in a calendar month.    
 
Ballbach says the moon is blue in name only.     
 

 
The last blue moon occurred on December 31, 2009.  The next blue moon isn’t slated to occur again until July 31, 2015.
 
Ballbach says The Wilderness Center will mark Friday’s blue moon with a walk at 7 p.m.   
 

 
Ballbach says they also have something special planned for participants.
