Moses A. Kaufman

Moses A. Kaufman, 95, of 1946 TR 444 Sugarcreek died Sunday, September 09, 2012 at his residence. He was born October 23, 1916 in Millersburg to the late Abraham and Susie (Gingerich) Kaufman. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Amish Church.

He married the former Mary Miller on November 14, 1940 and she died on May 28, 2004. He is survived by his daughter-in-law Mrs. Sarah Kaufman of Fresno, 3 sons Ivan Kaufman of Pittsburg, PA, Merlin (Bonnie) Kaufman of Big Prairie and Paul (Jackie) Kaufman of Dundee, 3 daughters Drusilla Sue (Wallace) Detwieler of Sugarcreek, Marilyn (Ray) Troyer of Berlin and Ruth (John) Chupp of the home, 2 sisters Mrs. Elsie Frye of Shipshewana, Indiana and Lovina (Jerry) Kline of Fredericksburg, brother-in-law Levi Troyer of Sugarcreek, 24 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he is preceded in death by his son Robert Kaufman, grandson Brent Detwieler, 4 brothers Roman, Jonas, Henry and Nelson and 3 sisters Sarah, Katie and Sue.

Services will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 9:00 AM at the Kaufman Residence with Bishop Nelson Hershberger officiating. Burial will be in Kaufman Cemetery in Walnut Creek Twp., Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the Kaufman Residence after 2:00 PM on Monday. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek.
