He was a 1966 Newcomerstown high school graduate. He was a crane operator and previously worked for the Brode and Kokosing Companies. He was a member of Masonic Port Washington Lodge # 202 Gnadenhutten and he loved to fish, deer hunt and in high school was a great football player. The family is so greatfull to all his wonderful friends who helped and supported them and Shorty during his illness.
On Friday Nov. 28, 1980 he married Bonnie (Hoffman) Truex who survives. He is also survived by one daughter, Amy Mendenhall and her husband Lynn of Dennison; three sons, Brandon 'BJ' Truex and his wife Jenn of Gnadenhutten, Chad Truex and his wife Jenny of Newark and Raymond Truex Jr. of Newcomerstown; 10 grandchildren; four sisters, Fanny Arnold and husband Gary of West Laf., Alice Grewell and husband Ed of Newcomerstown, Betty Glazer and husband Albert of Goshen and Patty Grewell and husband Roger of West Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by one sister Lisa Truex.
Services will be Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Addy Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Reed officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 25, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with Masonic services at 7:45 PM at the Addy Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Tusc.
