Mary V. Heid



Mary V. Heid, age 87, of Dundee, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, in Union Hospital, Dover, following a brief illness.

Born Jun. 26, 1925, at Midvale, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Clara Page Newton. Mary graduated from Midvale High School in 1944, and was employed by the F.W. Woolworth Co. at New Philadelphia. She married Clayton C. Heid on Jun. 5, 1959, and the two shared forty-three years before Clayton’s passing on Jul. 15, 2002. Mary was a loving homemaker whose world revolved around her family. She was a member of the Dundee Church of God for over seventy years, as well as the Ladies’ Ministry of the church. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed staying busy crafting many small home items.

Survivors include her son, Mark Heid of Beach City; a grandson, Kyle Heid of Nashville, TN; a step-grandson, Joshua Schlegel; a sister, Ann DeNoi of New Philadlephia; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, and her beloved husband, Clayton, Mary was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Heid; five sisters, Bernice and Thelma Edie, Martha Edwards, Lucille Locker and Evelyn Newton.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, Sept. 27, at 1:30 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, with Pastor Duane Wilbur officiating, assisted by Mary’s nephew, Priest Richard Edie. Burial will be in Dundee Cemetery. Following the committal, there will be a luncheon in the Dundee Church of God.
