Jan D. Paxton, 69, of Bolivar, died Saturday September 29, 2012 at 10:23 AM in Aultman Woodlawn Compassionate Care Center at Canton after an extended illness. Born June 1, 1943 in Richmond, Ind. he was a son of the late Donald N. and Claribel (Batcher) Paxton.
He retired as Vice President and General Manager of the Kurz-Kasch Company at Newcomerstown after 35 years. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1964 and was a member of the Army-Navy Club at Bolivar.
Jan is survived by his wfe the former Rebecca Hollon whom he married December 17, 1966. Also surviving are a daughter Anjanette Beahm of New Philadelphia and a son Jason (Kendra) Paxton of Louisville, Ohio; 3 grandchildren Justin Beahm, Ty Beahm and Cole Travis; a sister Cheryl Hecker of Cincinnati; 3 brothers James Paxton and Fred Paxton both of Dayton and Steve Paxton of Uniontown and many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Jan very much. He was also well loved by the Hollon family and considered them his brothers and sisters.
Memorial services will be held Saturday October 6, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the Lebold-Smith Funeral Home at 248 Park Ave. Bolivar with Pastor Kathleen Schen officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until time of services at the funeral home.
