Drug Take Back Day a Success

Tuscarawas County’s Sheriff is calling this past weekend’s National Take Back Initiative a success.

Sheriff Walt Wilson says nearly 50 pounds of prescription medications were dropped off at the sheriff’s department on Saturday.

Wilson says Oxycodone, Hydrocodone and Alprazolam pills were among the many medications turned in.  He says these medications are among the most highly abused drugs on the street in Tuscarawas County.

Anyone wishing to dispose of unused or unwanted prescription medications can do so at the newly installed Drug Drop Box located in the lobby of the sheriff’s office.

This box is available to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
