Becky Giauque, District 11 Public Information Specialist, says the initiative was prompted by the number of vehicles rear-ending ODOT’s snowplow trucks.
Giauque says studies show green lights are more easily detected by the human eye than other colors.
Giauque says ODOT plans to roll out its new amber, green and white color combination this winter.
Meanwhile, Giauque says ODOT is hard at work getting its snow fighting equipment ready for the upcoming season.
She says all of District Eleven’s snow removal equipment should be inspected and ready for use by the first of November.
