In Tuscarawas County, Society for Equal Access in New Philadelphia is the recipient of a $30,000 grant.
Executive Director Dianne Renicker says the funding will be used to transport low-income elderly and disabled individuals to their medical appointments.
Renicker says grants such as this one are very important to S.E.A.
The Austin-Bailey Health and Wellness Foundation supports programs that promote the physical and mental well-being of the people in Holmes, Stark, Tuscarawas and Wayne counties.

Those receiving grants include:
- American Red Cross – Canton - $10,000 - Support their rape crisis program.
- Faith in Action – Massillon - $12,500 - Continue to fund free services for low income elderly.
- Habitat for Humanity – Canton - $6,250 - Handicap accessible construction.
- Horizons of Tuscarawas and Carroll Counties – Dover - $17,750 - Caretracker electronic records system to track progress of developmentally- disabled individuals under their care.
- Pathway Caring for Children – Canton - $5,000 - Support programs to enhance children’s social, fitness and independent living skills.
- Pegasus Farm – Hartville - $11,030 - Equine therapy for disabled veterans.
- Philomatheon Society of the Blind – Canton - $10,000 - Provide glasses for visually impaired with low income.
- The Salvation Army – Canton - $15,000 - Support their soup kitchen programs.
