Junior Bunner



Junior Bunner, age 78 of  Park Village Health Care of Dover and formerly of the Crooked Run region of  New Philadelphia, died peacefully early Saturday morning, October 6, 2012, in Union Hospital at Dover.
A son of the late Arzie and Edna (Menefee) Bunner, Junior was born September 27, 1934, at Wert County, West Virginia.

Junior was a young man when his family relocated from West Virginia to the Crooked Run area. He attended school at Ragersville before entering the United States Army.  Upon return to the Tuscarawas Valley in the early 1960’s, he worked for Broadrun Dairy, and on a mink farm before embarking on a thirty-seven year career with the Belden Brick Co. where he worked as a kiln fireman. In his spare time Junior enjoyed swimming and spending time in the sun, reading, watching the television, and trapping.

He is survived by three sisters, Freda McCoy, Shirley Sanders and Libby Barrick all of New Philadelphia; two brothers; Tad Bunner of New Philadelphia and Butch (wife, Nora) Bunner of Newcomerstown;  and many extended family members including a special cousin, Ed Copen of New Philadelphia, a niece, Tammy Dennis of New Philadelphia, a great niece and nephew, Alea and Brandon Dennis, and a special aunt, Bessie Fensler of Dover.

In addition to his parents, Junior is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Iverson, a brother, Kenneth Bunner, and two infant siblings.

Cremation is planned, and family and friends will gather for a graveside service Thursday morning, October 11, at 11 in Union Hill Cemetery at Sugarcreek.
