Union Hospital Offers Senior Drivers a Safety Program

Seniors are being given the chance to freshen up their driving skills.

Union Hospital will be offering a course which reviews the rules of the road and offers coaching on defensive driving skills on Friday, October 12 from 10:00am to 3:00pm at Union Hospital’s Rosenberry Conference Room.

Director of Community Relations Carey Gardner says eligibility to participate in this program is not limited to any specific age.

Gardner points out that even though a senior may believe their driving skills haven’t diminished, it’s not necessarily so.

Gardner says that brushing up on one’s driving skills is never a bad idea.

The cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. Those who complete the program may become eligible for discounts from their insurance company.

To take part in the AARP Driver Safety Class, call the Union Hospital Community Relations Office at (330) 602-0778. The deadline to register is 12:00 noon on Thursday, October 11th.
