He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church and he was a minister. He was married August 30, 1945 to the former Fannie Hershberger who died April 8, 2001.
He is survived by his second wife the former Amanda E. Miller Schlabach whom he married January 17, 2002, his children Katie (Mose) Miller and Clara (John) Nisley both of Millersburg, Atlee (Mary) Erb of the home, daughter-in-law Maryann Erb of Millersburg, 35 grandchildren, 144 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, 16 step children, many step grandchildren, 3 sisters Mary Richendollar of Winchester, OH, Cora Gillman of Mt. Orab, OH, Ada (Roman) Keim of Georgetown, Texas, and sister-in-law Mary Miller of Millersburg.
In addition to his parents and first wife he was preceded in death by his son Andy, a grandson, six great grandchildren, half brother Raymond and half sister Katie.
Services will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 9:00 AM at the Erb residence with Bishop Daniel Schlabach officiating. Burial will be in the Raber Cemetery in Mechanic Twp., Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the Erb residence. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek.
