Glenn H Degen, 75, of 6321 Degen Rd Stone Creek died Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Union Hospital Emergency Room following a brief illness. He was born October 24, 1936 in Bucks Twp. near Stone Creek to the late Clarence and Louise (Regula) Degen.
He was a lifelong farmer and was employed for 18 years at the Belden Brick Co. in Sugarcreek. He attended New Pointe Community Church and a member of the Tuscarawas County Farm Bureau. He is survived by his wife the former Phyllis McPherson whom he married August 29, 1964, his children Jean (Jerry) Vacha of Stone Creek, Jim (Amy) Degen of Cary, N. Carolina, Virgina (Michael) Lehman of Dalton, 6 grandchildren Jacoby and Jordan Vacha, Quentin, Grayson, Phoebe and Corbin Lehman and his brother Merle (Carol) Degen of New Philadelphia.
In addition to his parents he is preceded by his daughter Kathy.
Services will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 3:00 PM at New Pointe Community Church with Rev. Dwight Mason officiating. Burial will be in Fiat Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday 5-8 PM at New Point Community Church and Sunday at the church from 2-3 PM prior to the services. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek.
