The 17th Annual Forest Heritage Festival will take place on Friday, October 19th and Saturday, October 20th from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the Fairgrounds.
Event co-chairperson Karen Korns says that on Friday, area children will have the chance to tour the entire festival.
Korns says that among the activities taking place on Saturday will be a pancake breakfast, a car show and a big charity auction.
Korns says that also on Saturday morning’s docket will be the crowning of The Forest Heritage Festival Queen, who will represent the festival during a year of occasional public appearances.
Admission to the Fairgrounds is free for the festival and there will also be free parking. All proceeds raised through the festival events will benefit Akron Children’s Hospital.
The first sixteen years of the festival has raised a total of $913,000 for the hospital. Korns is hopeful this year’s proceeds will take that total to $1,000,000.
