Wayne Byron Carpenter Jr.



Wayne Byron Carpenter Jr. 60, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away at the Hospice House of New Philadelphia on October 16th, 2012, following a long battle with lung cancer. He was born on January 10th, 1952 in Dover, Ohio, the son of the late Wayne Carpenter Sr. He was a graduate of Strasburg High School.
 
He worked at many places most recently at Ariel's Oak. Wayne loved camping and especially loved going with his friends to camp at the Cranberry in West Virginia. He also served in the United States Army from June 1970 - March 1973.

Wayne is survived by his daughter Alyson Carpenter-Bovetsky and her companion Terry Robinson of Barnhill; two grandsons, Anthony and Logan Everhart of Barnhill, his ex wife and friend Toni Szymialis of Barnhill, his best friends who would do anything for him, Jeff and Cathy Smith, his sisters, Becky (Mark)Getchey-Randall ofKelowna, British Columbia, and Paula Anderson of International Falls, Minnesota, and brothers, Randy(Destinee) Getchey of Sarasota, Florida, and Robert Getchey.

He was preceded in death by his father, and sisters, Karen Bruce and Mary Ann Hanni.

Wayne donated his body to Wright State University, Boonshoft School of Medicine. There will be no funeral. A memorial will be held from 1-3pm Sunday, October 21st at Midvale United Methodist Church in Midvale. There is no need to dress up, tee shirts and jeans are just fine.
